Good friends

Our good friends Nick and Molly, along with their sweet baby girl, Audrey, came to visit us this past weekend. We had a good mix of girl time/guy time/family time/adult time.

It was especially fun because we got to meet Audrey (9 months) for the first time, and they got to meet Crew for the first time. 

Unfortunately, we were so busy, having so much fun, chasing babies/kids all over the place, so not many pics were taken. But, how cute are these 2 little munchkins?

Sleepy

William doesn't take naps anymore. Until he went to Kindergarden, he was napping just about every day. I finally decided that a kindergardener does't need a nap. Although, there are days I make him rest, and he usually falls asleep.

Hudson naps about 3 days a week. He'd nap every day if I put him down. But, we are usually busy on the weekends, and since William doesn't nap, I always feel badly if Hudson has to miss the fun. So, on days that William is at school and Hudson is at home with me, I have him nap. Yesterday he slept until nearly 8:30, so I decided not to make him take a nap. I put Crew down for a nap around 1:30, Hudson and I played for awhile, then I told him I was going to go downstairs to clean up/start laundry, etc. After about 20 minutes, I noticed things got unusually quiet. I figured he was in the play room playing Star Wars or Transformers, but I went upstairs and arrived at something totally different:

He slept like that on the couch in the tv room for a good solid 1-1.5 hours, until he rolled over and fell onto the floor! He told me, "I really needed that nap, mommy. I feel good now!"

Golf Lessons

William and Hudson love playing golf (but did they really have a choice???). Dave tries to take them to the driving range every so often to practice, and he occasionally takes them on the course. They each have a few clubs, and for 4 and 6 years old, they're pretty good! This evening was such nice weather, we made it a family outing, so I got to take a few pics/video of them playing.

It was a fun evening, enjoying the weather, and working on William and Hudson's golf skills, which will (hopefully) get them each a full ride to college. Ha!

Spring Fling

We love our neighborhood! It seems like every year they are doing something new and fun. This year they put on a fun spring fling right around the corner from our house at the pond. They stocked our pond so that everyone could enjoy some great fishing, and they even provided the bait! They had face painting, caricature drawings, and a plethora of food trucks (which were VERY yummy). We strolled down there to check it all out, and we were not disappointed!
We got some yummy lunch and parked it under a shade tree. It was a PERFECT day for this!

Easter

We had a great Easter! 

Life's a hoot with 3 crazy boys!

We started with a fantastic breakfast with my parents here at our house, a wonderful church service celebrating the RISEN Lord, lunch at my parents house with a whole crowd of friends and family, and playtime afterwards in the backyard. 

There was a 50% chance of rain today, and the rain won. :-( It was a beautiful morning, so we were able to eat breakfast outside. We were planning to have a picnic potluck lunch with lots of other families in my parents backyard, but because of the rain, we ended up all having a picnic in their 4 car garage! It was very fun though! But the rain didn't stop the kiddos from playing in the rain. We had decided to pretty much cancel the egg hunt because it was so wet outside...but since they were all wet, we went ahead. What else were going to do with about 150 filled eggs?

Most everyone left by about 3, and wouldn't you know it, the rain stopped and the sun came out! My boys took advantage and continued playing until about 6pm! 

What a great day! (and I think Crew is excited about next year when he can run around with the rest of the kids)

1/2 a year?!?

It's true, Crew is now 6 months old. And the saying is true that with each kid, times moves faster! William and Hudson are so excited that he's 1/2 way to 1 year old. 

He hasn't been too interested in eating baby food, but the dr had told me at his 4 month checkup that she wanted him eating at least a little by the time we were there for the 6 month. So, about 3 weeks ago, I started trying. Long story short, he's just not interested! How can this be my child??? The only thing he "likes" is rice cereal mixed with apple juice. Yesterday I managed to sneak in some homemade sweet potatoes and today some pears. I'm optimistic he'll turn a corner soon...

He loves sitting up and playing with his toys. He can finally play and look around at (protect himself from) his brothers.  He still flops over sometimes, so I keep the boppy close by.

He's probably happiest in the walker outside or in the exersaucer upstairs. He can really steer the walker around, which is pretty funny to watch. The kid LOVES to be outside.

He still sleeps 11-12 hours at night, with 2 2-3 hour naps and occasionally a catnap in the evenings. He is BY FAR the best baby of the 3. I guess he doesn't really have a choice, being the 3rd child and all, does he?

We went to the dr yesterday, and he's still our smallest baby so far (except for his birth weight!)
