Pumpkin Patch part 2

Here are pics from our Family visit to the pumpkin patch:
This is William, giving me a smile. Grrrr...

Yes, I realize the fact that Hudson has fangs. My little vampire.
Dave had just run 19 miles before we came to this. Needless to say, he was having major leg cramps here! But, how could he say no to William begging him to ride the "train" with him?
A pumpkin family.

Pumpkin Patch

I took the kids to the pumpkin patch last week with some friends from church. It was such a beautiful day!Of course, the boys refused to look at the camera and smile at the same time.

At least they're looking in the general direction...

Stay tuned for more pumpkin patch pics from our family visit on Saturday...

Rockin' Out

The U2 concert here at the Cowboys Stadium was last night, 7pm. We had General Admission tickets, which means standing room only. That was what we wanted because that meant that we could be in Bono's "sweat zone"!!! (yes, that's desirable)
So, we arrived at the stadium at 6am, and we were #106 in line. We brought a plethora of chairs, snacks, drinks, games, iPhones, etc... It was a BLAST, and we met some really great people. It's so fun meeting and visiting with all the crazy U2 fans. Here is a short synopsis of my 2 faves:

1. If you have time google "U2's Tattoo Dan". He's what I call a "super fan." Long story short-- he has at least 18 U2 themed tattoos. He's been on stage at least 8 times. All 4 members of the band have signed him, and he immediately got them tattooed on. And Bono has personally drawn 3 pictures (Irish flag, liberty bell, and Bono's famous sunglasses), all of which were also tattoed. All members of the band know him by name, and love him.

2. Tony has been to 100 U2 concerts, 18 on this tour alone. He has been saving $100 a week for 4 years (so, $20K) so that he could travel around going to concerts. He spent this past June-August in Europe following the band around. C.R.A.Z.Y.

We were the first group to get in, which was around 5pm. We headed straight for the inner circle. We got in our desired spot, and shortly after that, event security/cops came to tell everyone that we had to leave b/c the inner circle was for special "red zone" tickets. Let me just tell you that a riot about broke out. Tattoo Dan was freaking...Tony was telling everyone to stay there. There was lots of yelling (of course, not by me or anyone in my party. we would NEVER do THAT). They told us that we were to either leave voluntarily or that they would arrest us all. We stood our ground, after the 2nd group of fans started storming the inner circle, the security and cops mysteriously vanished. Interesting, huh? Needless to say, we stayed in the inner circle!

The concert was awesome! It was my first U2 concert, so I was totally blown away. They sang all of my favorite songs. I can't wait for the next tour. I will definitely be doing the wait-all-day-in-line thing again. It is so worth it so that we can be within arm's reach of Bono, Adam, the Edge, and at times, Larry Mullen Jr.

Here are a few pics to document the evening:

Waiting for the start...and people watching too!

The bridge went RIGHT by us, and here is Bono crossing over to the catwalk. We could almost touch him.

They sounded awesome!
Bono, in all his glory!

There were 8 of us that got there at 6am. Here we are after the concert. So fun, and SO worth it!

Recovering

In case anyone is wondering, I am recovering on schedule, according to Dr. T.O. Souryal (my dr). I am still limping around, but I did manage to take care of my kids today, which is no small feat even without the surgery! William has been very helpful, giving me a hand to get around the house. It's pretty slow going up and down the stairs, so I avoid that at all costs. Plus, I know that Dave LOVES doing the whole bath/bedtime routine by himself. :-)

Dr. Souryal says that by Friday I should have NO problems walking, and by Monday I better not even limp. It's a good thing because I have a U2 concert to go to on Monday!
