Storytime with Daddy

Hudson has just recently started loving books. And he will FINALLY sit through evening storytime with daddy and William.
I took several pictures, but this is the only one that Hudson wasn't looking at me, saying "cheese"!
And in case you're wondering, they are reading the Little Critter book "Just Go to Bed."

Lizzing

I have never watched the show 30 Rock . Those who do tell me that it's hilarious. Not a big Baldwin fan. YUCK. Anyway, a friend of mine introduced me to the word "lizzing" which apparently means a combination of laughing and wizzing, coined from the show 30 Rock. I had never heard it called that before, but admittedly, I have lizzed a few times.

One of these times was last night:
Every time we go to the pool, Hudson wants to wear goggles (he cries "goggle" for a large amount of time while we're there! A.N.N.O.Y.I.N.G) So, I bought him a pair at Target yesterday. Before going last night, I put them on him while he was in his carseat. I almost fell to the floor I was laughing so hard. Does this not make you "lizz" just a little?

I'm wild, don't judge me

I have to preface this by saying that it wasn't my idea. My sister, Tasha, has been wanting to get her nose pierced for quite some time (about 5 years). I've never had an aversion to nose piercings, but I've never had the desire to have one. Not long ago, as she was lamenting NOT having one...it sort of started to intrigue me.
This past weekend we were at the wedding of my 2nd cousin...in Alabama. (Don't crazy things always happen in Alabama? :-)) My parents, brother and his wife, Paige, Tasha and I all went out for it. Husbands stayed home with the kiddos.

Friday night at the rehearsal dinner, we all got to talking about getting our noses pierced (spurred on by my brother, of course). I also want to say, no alcohol was involved. So, Saturday after lunch, we took the plunge. It was V.E.R.Y. painful. The painful part didn't last very long, but while it did last -- OUCH!!! I like it more than I thought I would. In 2 weeks, I can change it out to a much smaller one...I got myself the cutest little diamond-- barely bigger than a speck of glitter.

Just a little bling to my face...

4th of July

Uncle Sam

Mini-Uncle Sam
Family pic at the Southlake celebration...in anticipation of the yummy 5 Guys burgers we were about to eat!

Getting ready for fireworks! He's actually saying "CHEESE!"

Goofball...as usual. Actually, he's showing off for Caroline (the love of his life)

Moments before the fireworks!

William, the fish.

William and Hudson with Mimi's 4th of July costume stuff!

We had such a great holiday weekend! We got to celebrate 2 nights in a row, which is always very fun! Both kids LOVED the fireworks.
